2012 New Year’s Eve~ 1940’s Style!

So we sit at the threshold of a new year again. But this year instead of looking into this past year, we take you back to the 1940’s. Follow along with a peek into the past…

HATS

From head to toe, these women knew how to turn heads and accessorize.
As you may have noticed RED, BLACK & WHITE were favorite colors.
Thank you for joining us on the little venture.

Ensembles

While we missed our opportunity for the Fashion Friday blog hop last week, I still wanted to share something with you. With the transition from summer to fall sitting coldly at our feet I thought a look at the ensembles of the seasons might be in order. Have a look!

Comfy casuals
Dressier choices
And items that can have little “extras” added for warmth

No matter what you choose, Fashion always has the necessary items to make any ensemble a success. So combine your fashion styles and make great ensembles for your wardrobe.

Fashion Friday-Too Cute for Words

Aaawww, doesn’t that make you want one?

Gingham…
Who can resist it?

This, at one time, was considered a “farm girl” or “hillbilly” look!
She’s the image of sweet innocence!
Prom perhaps?
Simply adorable, aren’t they?
This truly istoo cute for words….
No words necessary.

Fashion Friday-Watermelon Shades & Styles

~Watermelon Wardrobes~

Since the colors and shades of “Watermelon” are so popular at this time I was
given the challenge of setting it as part of a future posting; here it is:
Let’s begin outdoors.

Next up are the children.
They look like little dolls, don’t they?
Speaking of dolls, they have a sense of fashion as well.
Now, on to the adults shall we?
I believe we can literally call it a wrap.
A fun combination for a day outside.

More formally presented.
Casually presented.

A very nice combination for going to those ball games.
Now, let’s dress it up a bit…
Let’s face it, watermelon is delicious,

no matter how you go about sharing it!
All of this reminds me of a song I learned in elementary school….”Oh plant a watermelon vine upon my grave, and let the juice, (slurp, slurp) run through….”

From yards, children and dolls, casual outings, ballparks and special events, you can plant your watermelon vine and enjoy the “juicy” flavors of the wonderful fashions associated with “watermelon”.
