Throwback Thursday: Vintage Men Digi Stamps

Today will be short.

Because…

My man is taking the day off today to spend a day with me since we both have been so dern busy. He has been working so hard and hasn’t had a lot of time off.

So I thought I would find a few Digi Stamps for you…

This one is funny to me because my man was in the doghouse a bit.

I thought I would give you some Vintage Digit Stamps  to play around with for scrapbooking or just perusing

Hopefully you are lucky enough to have a good man in your life. If not, you can print these out and make yourself one I guess 🙂

For those who want the Muscle Man here is a funny one for ya!

Until Next Time,

Sunday Recipe : Crepes

Today my man is in the kitchen trying out some crepe recipes. We haven’t quite figured it out yet.

image

But we are definitely giving it another shot. Here is how they turned out.

image

They were amazing and FABULOUS! We just had them with a bit or butter and Cinnamon and Sugar. As you see I had mine with a glass of milk from one of my favorite places The Funny Bone Comedy Club

Ben said he found the Recipe at James Starmer Food

Crepe Recipe

Ingedients

1 cup flour
1 & 1/2 cups of milk
2 large eggs

butter for pan

Preparation

Put the first three ingredients into a blender.
Blend for 7-10 seconds.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Lightly brush the pan with butter.
Pour enough crepe mix into the pan to coat it.
Wait a few seconds then pour the remaining liquid back into the remaining crepe mix.
Use a rubber spatula to remove the clean up the area where the mix was poured out of the pan.
Depending on the heat of the pan, cook time will vary. So I just wait unlit the edge of the crepe starts to peel away from the pan. Then I give it another few seconds on the other side.

James has a video on his site if you would rather watch someone making them. Ben wasn’t really into watching a video and did it all just from the directions. They turned out great.

If you want something easy and fun, try these out. If you do, let me know how they turned out for you and go to James’s blog as well as give him a shout out! I like to give credit where credit is due and this man James deserves props for these crepes.

Happy Sunday Recipe Day!

Now I am off to go try MY hand at making crackers with my new Cookie Press. More info on it tmrw so stay tuned…

Until next time,

What’s Happening Wednesday: Retro Auto Time

Today I need to take my truck/suv to the Auto Repair Shop. As I am describing on the phone the sounds and clanks I start smirking to myself thinking,

image of Small Best Service Tin Sign

“Is this how all women sound to auto repair guys?” and

What did women do in the past when the car or vehicle needed fixing?”

There were some women who evidently could handle it all or at least that is what the old ads WANT you to belive

Some women gave it their all

Although I don’t know why but whenever I think of Car Mechanics I can’t help but think of the boys fro Grease

Though the image below is about something else, the way it makes me feel is the same. This is what I want. I want a mechanic to be the guy who is looking over my car and tells me what to do, but won’t cheat me because he is a respectable man and I am a lady in aid.

if I could fix my car I still wouldn’t because I just feel there are some things a lady should not have to tend to.

Fix my car and I’ll bake you a cake if you want, just don’t ask a woman to do a man’s job. I know that way of thinking is out of the norm, but it is how I feel.

Now, to finish getting ready, run my last errand to shop for the home then take the car to my mechanic guy.

Until next time,

Mad Men Monday: The Draper Men

I love Mad Men as I think most of you are figuring out by now.

Here is a link to the Recap of last night (but if you haven’t watched it this is a spoiler)

Mad Men Season Premiere 6

Every time I look at Don Draper, I think of my father

My Father

More pictures of Art in My Tribute to my Fathers on Facebook. Click picture and see

But what is it about these men that women are drawn to?

It is their Poise and Power. Even if they don’t have power in their jobs like Don does, they have power in their voice and stature like my father.

I never remember my father wearing an apron or grilling but that doesn’t mean he didn’t.

I looked all over to find Don Draper in an apron but couldn’t.

I did however find pictures of them enjoying spring at parks and having picnics. This makes me reminiscent about days with my father Art before he passed away (I was 10) of us going to Ledges Park in Boone, Iowa and having moments like this

Ok,  so my life wasn’t as blissful as this because this is of course TV, but we did go to the park and let the cars drive by and scream for them to go fast so the water would splash up on the tires.  I remember playing horseshoes and those funny lawn darts they now have banned, I heard. It was a simpler time than now and I loved it. MY dad in his sternness would actually crack a smile and maybe a guffaw laugh every now and then.

The men like Don and my father Art were hard and stern but they taught us “The world isn’t always sunshine and roses” (my father) and things like “”You want some respect? Go out and get it for yourself.” (Dona Draper)

I love these men and wish more men were like them, honestly. They don’t sugar coat things. They love you because you are. They are hard on you because the world will be hard on you. They taught you hard lessons through hard love and you came out loving them for it. Ok, at least I did.

Do you love Mad Men? Do you love The Draper Men? I would love to hear your comments here (click the heart icon) or on Facebook @TrishaTrixieDesigns

Until next time,
