I love Vintage sewing books such as these. There not only is something wonderful to me about the smell of old books, but looking at these brings backs moment of when my Grandma Hunter was trying so hard to teach me the basics. I also love the style of these books and how they teach us. There is no fancy DVD or CD with some tutorial on it. All they had was words. Words and images in and on a book to tell us everything we needed to know about how to sew. I got one of the books at a Thrift store and the other one I happened upon when I was at Domestica in East Village in Des Moines.
If you get a chance to grab one of these types books, do yourself a favor and get it. It is well worth it and you won’t regret it.
Now, I am going off to my rocking chair and ottoman and gonna put my feet up and devour into these tonight and get off this new version of a Idiot box- the computer. 🙂
