Try It Tuesday~Bare Minerals Veil

Try It Tuesday

Here we are for Try It Tuesday. I tried something different. Since I have severely, hyper-sensitive asthma I am unable to wear many cosmetics for they trigger an asthma attack. Please be clear, I have ASTHMA, not allergies.  When Miss Trisha returned from NY during Fashion Week she attended the IFBCON and  brought lots of swag and other goodies for her intern. One of those items was Bare Minerals, Mineral Veil

I tested it very carefully so as not to over expose my breathing to the powder at first. The results were good. I was still breathing. No choking. YAY! So today I took photographs of my left side as you see above. The first photo, on the left, is without any makeup whatsoever. The photo on the right is with a fine, light application of the Bare Minerals Veil powder applied. Although subtle, I do feel their is a significant difference in the over all appearance of my skin. I like it. And I wanted to share this with you too.

Just to be sure, I just had to photograph the right side of my face as well. The first photo, on the left, is without any makeup whatsoever. The photo on the left is with a fine, light application of the Bare Minerals Veil powder applied. See below.

Now, to add to this I want to say how happy I am to be able to wear this as it also has a broad spectrum SPF 25. This is always important to anyone who is out in the sun. I developed “brown patches/spots” along my jawline from a combination of sun exposure and side effect of respiratory medications.

I don’t have a big issue with my skin. I am who I am and what you see is what you get. It’s a family thing. But I do have to admit that I’m liking that this Bare Minerals Veil is “asthma friendly” for me and at the same time it smooths out my skin tone.

I do see that my photography is lacking but I hope you are able to see what I’m referring to. Do you have cosmetic health issues or just general challenges with makeup? Let us know if you do, we will be most happy to help. Everyone should feel beautiful whether they do or do not wear makeup.

Spectacular Sunday~Spectacular Eyes

Spectacular Sunday~Asian Beauty

Here we are! Another spectacular Sunday. We have some eyes that will amaze you. Dramatic eye make up. Must-see beauty.

I realize this  may seem not-so-subtle but for a memorable effect it is perfect to design as an accessory to your fashion for classy events.

This design is perfect for runway shows, fashion events and parties as well.

This is definitely dramatic. Would be excellent to wear to a theatrical show or something similar. Possibly even a period genre activity.

Here I see a design that is just like the model, happy, bold and fun! For any occasion.

This bold and beautiful look is perfect for an evening out for fine dining and leisure.

Once again, a fresh and fun look for a fresh and fun face.

Saucy, sexy, sultry. Bold color and vivid expression over the eyes draw you deep into the look.

I am so drawn to Asian beauties, their clothing fashions and their makeup as well. This is no exception.

Proud as a peacock and the bright blue eyes to accentuate the look.

Try It Tuesday~Organized Makeup

Getting organized is difficult for many. If you are one of those, here are some ideas for you to consider. If you’re already organized, there’s information for you to think about. All ideas have pros and cons and no one idea works best for everyone. Below I am sharing my insight and opinions. If you have any ideas or thoughts you’d like to share, we welcome your comments. Otherwise, ‘try it’. See how you like it.

These are attractive and creative. They do keep your cosmetics in place. One thing I do not care for about these is that by sitting with the brushes up in the air they allow dirt and dust and other airborne matter to collect on them. Then, in turn, you put these into your eye shadows or blushes and then brush that into your skin. (Are we seeing the issue here?)

Now I can hear some of you thinking “Well we can’t put
them in, bristles down, because that would just ruin the
brushes, so what are we supposed to do about that?”

I have an answer for you. My solution is to store cosmetic
brushes in covered containers, preferably not air tight ones
though. There’s a variety of options. Here are three
of my favorites.

I wish this photo were clearer. The side areas are great for storing smaller cosmetics
which allows you to keep the bulk of your cosmetics together.
The best feature is that the brushes are laid down and nestled into a groove
to hold them suspended so they aren’t rubbing, which minimizes fraying as well.
The second best feature is that this container can be closed,
keeping out excess dust, dirt and other airborne particles.
For this Fashion Eye,
this is the Mercedes of cosmetic storage.
My second runner up for storage is little gem here. It has drawers for your brushes and other cosmetic applicators. That is good since it also has what I refer to as “breather holes” in the front of each drawer. This allows a little bit of airflow while minimizing unwanted particles. However, the fact that it has drawers means you have to lay your brushes down. This allows mixing of colors and powders on your brushes which slightly alters the final look after application. Also, the bristles can rub together and this results in quicker fraying of the bristles.
Another item along the line of drawers is here. This provides maximum breathing room but again, it has the same downfalls as the above storage container. If this is your choice I recommend a light, attractive “draping” that goes over the top and comes down over the sides to eliminate the amount of airborne particles.
Here are some ideas for your “bath and beauty” supplies as well as your lip liners,
eye liners, mascaras, eye pencils and other “stick” items.

For those times you have to travel, here are some attractive choices that will
also keep your items clean and dry.

We hope this helps you think or rethink your options and allows you some solutions.
