Fizzle HamThis is a simple meal to put in the crock-pot as your beautiful self heads to church. The Sprite is used to remove the salty flavor of the ham and is not overly powerful. Any sides will do! The option of potatoes is optional, as it ups the cook time to 6 hours Cooking Attire:This is a light-cooking day, so I recommend the beauty of the flower red bow baby half apron by Trisha Trixie Designs.Your pearls and blaring red lipstick will make you the apple of everyone’s eye. These cute little flat dotted shoes would be perfect to work in and still look oh so adorable
(Apron and shoe can be custom created for you by Trisha Trixie Designs. Also available in heel or flat.)
(The red lipstick is my favorite red and can be purchased at Sephora online or in stores. Pearls I found at a vintage store)
v 1 Pre-cooked ham (big enough to feed your crew and small enough to fit your crock-pot)
v 1 16 ounce bottle of Sprite (*Hint* make sure everyone knows this will be used for a meal)
v 1 20 ounce can of crushed pineapple
v Desired amount of sweet or baking potatoes (optional)
v Drizzly amount of oil (optional)
v Place the ham in the crock-pot.
v Poor Sprite over the top of the ham.
v Dump the pineapples on top of the ham.
v Drizzle oil onto a piece of foil that is large enough to cover potatoes (optional)
v Poke a few holes in the potatoes with a fork and then wrap in foil.
v Place potatoes on top of the ham.
v Put the crock-pot on low for 3-4 hours without potatoes or 6 hours with potatoes.
v The longer you cook this ham, the better it will taste.
v You can use an uncooked ham, but will need to look up crock-pot cook times for various sizes of hams.
v If you like salt, feel free to put salt onto the drizzled oil to coat your potatoes.
Happy Holidays everyone and keep watching for more great things from Trisha Trixie Designs
What is your Saturday like?
Is it relaxing, putting your foot up on the ottoman, drinking a beer, watching TV, doing nothing?
Is it running errands you didn’t get to do all week?
Is that the day that everything in the house can finally get done?
For me I try not to make it a cleaning day but sometimes that happens. It is the only day me and my man get to enjoy a full day as a “Weekend Day” as he calls it. Friday starts the weekend, but because he has to work, Friday doesn’t count. Sunday only goes so far and you have to behave in the night time because the next day is a “School Day ” or “Work Day” mentality he says. So Saturday is the only REALLY Weekend Day unless it is a Holiday and he gets an extra day off.
I know many of you are planning this weekend to bake and cook and color eggs.
Some are getting ready to show their favorite Easter Dress or New Easter Dress at church this Sunday.
Some are not celebrating this holiday for one reason or another and it is just a normal weekend like any other.
If you are looking for a nice Vintage Recipe that Takes the Cake (Pun full and well intended) Here is a nice Vintage Recipe I found. I would not in any way be able to enjoy this as I am HIGHLY Allergic to Coconut. But it definitely looks like fun.
Maybe you want to go all out…If we had a bigger house and a dining room I would invite a houseful of people over and make a big spread like this…
I would wear my Easter Apron and cook all the fixins and goodies and even color eggs.
I don’t have an “Easter Apron” completed yet but here is the start of what I am working on for my Easter Apron….
I am going to add the finishing touches on it tomorrow, so I have it to wear on Easter!
I will share the pictures as soon as I get it done.
I think all of these that I have made would be great Easter Aprons. I think it depends on the style of aprons you like and the desirability for cute, casual, or comfort. They are all comfortable to me, but I know some people feel better in jeans…
So the Jean Apron might be more of their style…
For some a quick easy little Bandana Apron like this one might be more their style. When I look at this bandana Apron I made I see a very Organic kinda girl. Someone Kitchy and Quirky. This gal is making an Organic Easter meal.
Or perhaps the Turquoise Dotty is more your style. Cute quaint, I could see this gal in heels and pearls.
This Half Apron, lose knot tie in the back
(I either need to add more to it or just tie it in a knot. I didn’t add enough cloth for the tie)
Whatever your style, there is an apron for everyone…
Ok almost everyone…because…
My man says I need a MANS Apron because sometimes Men do the grillin for weekends and holidays and such. But the Man’s Apron needs to be sturdy and rugged, Have an apron string that has an opener on it for his beer , a towel hook for him to have his towel nearby and big apron pocket for anything else he needs. I teased saying…
“And a cell phone or walkie holder for him to have his phone nearby so the woman can keep bugging him about all teh things on her Honey Do list, right?”
We both laughed and agreed.
Stay tuned tomorrow to see how my Easter Apron turned out and I might be able to toss in an another Recipe or two…

I hope as we move along you will not just like, yet fall in love with the direction my line and site is going. I welcome all comments, feedback, ratings and suggestions. I want to be a brand you love. To be that, I am willing to learn and grow. So please email, comment and message me on Facebook .
I can’t wait for this new adventure…how about you?
If you are a Follower of this site you may have noticed from last night to today that there have been a few changes.
Well, hold on to your hats because there is about to be more….
Recently I found out I am not able to use the Sensa name because Sensa the wight loss company owns the right to it.
So what does this mean? Well, anything I use with Sensa Fashion or Sensa…anything cannot be used as well.
I have had to go through a Re-branding before luckily so I know how to do this. It is not fun. It is tedious. Change all the names of where you are online. Change Twitter Accounts and emails. Change Blogs and Facebook pages, and so on and so forth.
People either love you or hate you for it I have found and in the midst of me growing I am hoping you grow with me and enjoy and welcome the change.
So why Trisha Trixie? Well, when I did my Re-branding the last time, my attorney said, “What is it that people know you by that no one can take away?”
My answer “Trisha Trixie”
And thus at THAT time became Trisha Trixie and Company. A Social Media and Web Company. But also in that time he advised that I go out and use the Trisha Trixie name so much there will never be an argument as to who owns the name. So I did. Go ahead. Good “Trisha Trixie” and you will be there for awhile. Images, pictures, logos, posts, you name it, there I am. So why not continue this trend when I decided to get back into PinUp Modeling? So I did that too.
This year my passion truly is to have a Vintage Inspired Apron Line and all the pretty things that go with it. My market is for Pin Up girls and moms and those who like the apron line and that embodiment of a retro or vintage woman.
I think Trisha Trixie embodies that.
But until I spoke to Susan from Business in Blue Jeans today I wasn’t aware of HOW MUCH it embodied it. Hearing someone else say it made me think about it more. Which then I researched more intently inside me thoughts of where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. Was I willing to take the chance that the Sensa line could come after me? I did not want to build something up for someone to just take it away again. If I was going to change now, would be the time to do it.
I hope you all stay with me.
I hope you all will like the new changes we have in store for the rest of the year with this site and blog.
A new focus will be on Aprons, Recipes, Custom Made DIY projects, pretty things that go with aprons and things for PinUp Models as well that will go along with this line. The possibilities are not limited, in fact they are endless.
If you have any suggestions for us along the way, please let us know.
Since Corrina has alreadyprepared tomorrows post, I am going to leave it as is. Friday we will have our wrap up.
Starting Saturday I will be gearing you up for next week with a morsel of the direction the new site is going to take.
Sunday I am going to ask Corrina to share on of her favorite Sunday recipes.
And by Monday we will be in full force, look and direction for a new era of Trisha Trixie Designs.
I have already changed the logo of the site and the name…more changes will follow but I will try not to make them TOO drastically as I don’t want to give you all whiplash.
Thank you for following.
Thank you to those who understand and support.
I would love to hear your support and suggestions in our comments. Please click the little heart in the corner and share with us your thoughts. My Apron arms and ears are ready and waiting. You can also come check out our new look and LIKE it or LOVE it on our Facebook Page Trisha Trixie Designs.
Until Next time,
Here we are for Try It Tuesday. I tried something different. Since I have severely, hyper-sensitive asthma I am unable to wear many cosmetics for they trigger an asthma attack. Please be clear, I have ASTHMA, not allergies. When Miss Trisha returned from NY during Fashion Week she attended the IFBCON and brought lots of swag and other goodies for her intern. One of those items was Bare Minerals, Mineral Veil
I tested it very carefully so as not to over expose my breathing to the powder at first. The results were good. I was still breathing. No choking. YAY! So today I took photographs of my left side as you see above. The first photo, on the left, is without any makeup whatsoever. The photo on the right is with a fine, light application of the Bare Minerals Veil powder applied. Although subtle, I do feel their is a significant difference in the over all appearance of my skin. I like it. And I wanted to share this with you too.
Just to be sure, I just had to photograph the right side of my face as well. The first photo, on the left, is without any makeup whatsoever. The photo on the left is with a fine, light application of the Bare Minerals Veil powder applied. See below.
Now, to add to this I want to say how happy I am to be able to wear this as it also has a broad spectrum SPF 25. This is always important to anyone who is out in the sun. I developed “brown patches/spots” along my jawline from a combination of sun exposure and side effect of respiratory medications.
I don’t have a big issue with my skin. I am who I am and what you see is what you get. It’s a family thing. But I do have to admit that I’m liking that this Bare Minerals Veil is “asthma friendly” for me and at the same time it smooths out my skin tone.
I do see that my photography is lacking but I hope you are able to see what I’m referring to. Do you have cosmetic health issues or just general challenges with makeup? Let us know if you do, we will be most happy to help. Everyone should feel beautiful whether they do or do not wear makeup.

Keeping an eye on fashion, this is your Fashion Eye.
Some of you may or may not know but I love to draw. My Art page is The Art of Trisha Trixie Last year I spent a whole year just drawing. My goal? 50 Figures and 50 faces in a year (Actually I started in March and ended in December). It made a vast improvement on how I drew my eyes and lips and other features. I took classes online and elsewhere. I showcased my work in art galleries and events. I sold art at booths and fairs. Art was my life last year. Partially trying to get over things in my life I turned to art for healing. Also I wanted to improve. I wanted to see where it would take me. Funny enough…it took back into Modeling. Back into Fashion. and now Back into Art.
This year as you can see my focus is more so on the Fashion and Modeling side but I was feel though the artist in me was missing. Sketching figures for designs is one thing, but doing true fashion illustration is another. Staying with the PinUp theme and showcasing aprons as my line is this year, I drew a picture of a pal of mine in the industry….Miss Tootsie Pop!
I am showing you both versions with the original white dotted top to the leopard version of the top.
Come check out my Art Page and show the love by LIKING it The Art of Trisha Trixie
Hope you like the Art side of Trisha Trixie as well as the Fashion side.
Until next time,
Here we are! Another spectacular Sunday. We have some eyes that will amaze you. Dramatic eye make up. Must-see beauty.
I realize this may seem not-so-subtle but for a memorable effect it is perfect to design as an accessory to your fashion for classy events.
This design is perfect for runway shows, fashion events and parties as well.
This is definitely dramatic. Would be excellent to wear to a theatrical show or something similar. Possibly even a period genre activity.
Here I see a design that is just like the model, happy, bold and fun! For any occasion.
This bold and beautiful look is perfect for an evening out for fine dining and leisure.
Once again, a fresh and fun look for a fresh and fun face.
Saucy, sexy, sultry. Bold color and vivid expression over the eyes draw you deep into the look.
I am so drawn to Asian beauties, their clothing fashions and their makeup as well. This is no exception.
Proud as a peacock and the bright blue eyes to accentuate the look.
That’s all for today. Brought to you by the Fashion Eye for SensaFashion
Be sure to look us up on Facebook as well:
I know I have shared my Makeup and Train Case tips and tricks with you but I have yet to share the thing sI love in my bath and afterwards. So today I thought I would share how I get my Lovely Legs looking so fine. The boys always say “You have a nice set of gams !!” so I must be doing something right!
I love the packaging for one thing It is Retro Cute. Though the old package was better and cuter I still like this one. Then when you open it , it has this faint smell of roses like my grandmother used to use. I generally don’t like that smell but it is so light that I love it. It is like smelling a rose. The old Bathina used to have a longer sponge and now they send you this tiny little thing to swipe in the Bathina cream and slide on your legs. I find it harder to cover all the area of both sides of my legs with this small one. With the old one I could make one swipe on the cream and one on the front of my legs. Then repeat for the back. This new little soft pillow like sponge though it does have a handle on it, it harder to grip so it makes it harder for me to use (I have premature arthritis so sometimes it hurts my hand to hold is why).
Overall if I were giving it a score I would say a 7 out of 10. I like the Red tin it comes in, I like the scent and I love the soft way my legs feel afterwards…silky smooth. But I don’t like that they changed the package and I don’t like the tiny pillow sponge.
I would still encourage you to try it out though. I feel it is worth the things I don’t like because nothing else so far has made my legs THIS soft!
If you do try it out come here or to our FB page tel lus what you think. I love to know other people’s opinions…even if I don’t’ agree.
Until Next Time

Thanks for polling!! 🙂 MUAH!!
Yes, I can hear you thinking to yourselves “Did I read that right? Did she say Barbie Fashion?” And I did say that. Barbie is as old as some of us are and older than others. But she was just as much a part of the fashiontude in the 40’s as were some of the top designers.Take a look and see what I mean. She emulated all the latest styles and even boosted their acceptance at times. From Vogue to Couture.
For throwbacks, these outfits are still eye-catching today and almost equally as popular.
I guess folks decided that these designs were keepers after all.
That’s all for this Throwback.
If you would like more please check us out on Facebook
Our current challenge from IFB is to discuss Why we started our blog ? She said for us to DIG DEEP and
“talk about why you started, and what you hope to accomplish. It’ll be nice to look back on this in six months or a year. Trust me!”
Well, I guess she must be reading a few Fashionista’s mind because I was planning on writing about this and as I read the comments below the questions on IFB I see others were planning on the same thing!! (You didn’t know Janine was a mind reader did you?)
I started my blog a few years ago when I was styling and doing some personal shopping on the side for a few clients. Then I was asked to model in a local fashion show and was featured in our local Juice magazine with the Three Styles of Patrica Hunter because people and papers kept taking pics of me and telling me what a great Sense of Style and Sense of Fashion I had. There it was. There is where the name was given birth. I thought to myself, “I have always been told I have a Sense of Fashion so why not blog about it!”
It was a horrible slow going process. I had been blogging on Blogger for other reasons personally for years but to try and share with others on what my idea and sense of fashion was was a lot harder than I imagined. I didn’t want people to look down on me if they disagreed. I was also afraid to share because I didn’t want others to think of me as Haughty or Prideful. Slowly I kept trudging on but in the end I wanted more than just being a blogger at that time.
Des Moines is great for Technology Startups. There are networking events for Start Up Drinks and Social Media Start Ups and nearly anything having to do with technology. I figured to truly make it here in Des Moines I need to create something that appealed to this bane of cliques in this genre. I had a Web and Social Media business at the time and that was more my bread and butter so I thought the transition would be as easy as creating a great Fashion Community and Portal and people would just flock to sign on!!
The community was going to have Models and Photographers as well as other Designers and Fashionistas all sharing their knowledge and connecting. I thought it was a grand idea where one could ask questions and connect and be helped from all facets. I thought it was fabulous. Well, or so I thought is the key phrase. It dragged as well. I went networking and pitched it at BarCampOmaha and even pitched it to StartUpCityDSM a company that helps Tech Start Ups. I got a few other ideas from BarCamp but when I left StartUpCityDSM I left with my tail between my leg and let their thoughts influence me too much. StartUpCityDSM was helpful, don’t get me wrong, but a room full of investors, launchers and those who knew how to make things happen launching and throwing questions after questions at me of things I didn’t think of, like why would people pay for the site, what was I giving away, who was I connecting with, did I have a business plan and so on, scared the dickens out of me and I don’t scare easily!
I set the blog and the fashion idea out of my head and went back to my bread and butter adding in a side of Freelance for big Companies from time to time. But I hated it. I was miserable. I was an Entrepreneur not a Cube Girl! Why was I living this life? I was not one to do things I did not want to do so why was I doing this when really I wanted to create, design and write about fashion and get back into both sides of the world on the modeling side and the fashion side??
So at the end of last year 2012 I walked into the living room and told my live in boyfriend I wanted to go back into modeling full time, as a PinUp model and I wanted to explore the fashion business again. He sat there quietly and then said, “I have just three questions for you?”
“Is it going to make you happy?”
“Can you make money at it?”
“What do you need from me?”
I answered “Yes, Yes and Support!”
He said, “Ok then do it! I believe in you!
So I started with modeling and have been rebuilding my portfolio. My Model name is Trisha Trixie
So far that has been grand and little by little I have been featured on a few PinUp Sites and this week was asked to be a Ruthless PinUp girl and the Ruthless Fashionista. I am also now the Fashion Blogger for DesMoinesisNotBoring.com and write about Fashion and events that I go to as the Fashionista for SensaFashion around town to prove the fashion is DesMoines is not boring either!! Lastly, I write for myself and my sister/intern writes and assists me with blog writing and things needed for SensaFashion.
I decided two weeks after I heard about IFBCON to go and I won a three night stay at the W Hotel, got a free bracelet from Alex and Ani and met some amazing people and made some amazing contacts! I just knew in my gut I had to go as it would be the launch of my year and it WAS!!
I am also avidly designing and creating for my Vintage Inspired Apron line and also creating Reconstruscted Fashions taking your clothes from Drab to Fab! Not only has the modeling been going well but this has been moving along for me too! I had one order already for a bakery in Jefferson Iowa where we made 6 custom Aprons for her small business.
annnddd… I have been selling my ReConstrusted Fashions at booths and shows around town. I have been trying my hand at a few E-commerce sites but that has been a chore. Every time I wear one of my fashions people beg me for a card and ask “Where can I buy your items? I have tried to direct them to buy online but I felt this last week what I really needed was to be where the people could SEE my fashions and was hoping to find a store I could sell them at by renting space or being on consignment to being since overhead is quite costly.
Well, as the fates would have it my pals have my back and my friend Shari just email introduced myself and her other friend together that has a small business called Cheryl’s Borrowed Occasions where she rents out prom and wedding dresses, shoes and misc accessories. Not only did we discuss renting my items there (would would be wonderful residual income) but she always is possibly interested in having me ReConstruct some of the dresses and items she already has to make them more sellable. We meet next week and I can’t wait to see how this turns out! Stay tuned on my blog to find out!!
To me, my future is now bright. I see this going in the direction I desire it to so I guess we will see in 6 months.
My Future Desires:
- I hope to accomplish a full line of Aprons and show at Omaha Fashion Week and one day soon at New York Fashion Week.
- I hope to be able to sell in a boutique or store for at least the next 6 months to a year
- I hope to have my own boutique in the next two years
- I hope to be known as a name in the PinUp industry for TrishaTrixie and SensaFashion for my modeling uniqueness and my amazing fashions
- I hope to be published in online and offline magazines and hopefully some widely known ones
- I hope to be a speaker at a variety of events in my town and in other places about these accomplishments
- I hope to one day be one of the speakers at IFBCON within the next two years if not sooner (wink and smile)
- I hope TrishaTrixie and SensaFashion to be names people hear and learn to love!
I am a dreamer and believer.
Failure is only one step to success and I had that so now I am moving on.
I am loving the ride of life I am on (as I generally do) and I have no clue where things WILL go but I know I am going to work as hard and smart as I can to get there. I will use out of the box thinking and my uniqueness to get me there!
Thanks for this challenge. I enjoy being a part of IFB and am so glad I went to IFBCON. It changed my life.
TRY IT TUESDAY~FOLLOW UP
Okay my friends. We wrote, we posted, we questioned and suggested. But…did you TRY IT? Either one? I said I would and I did too. Not only did I try it, I liked it and got complimented on it as well. I took the scarf Trisha Trixie gave me, put a large pin on the inside of my work t-shirt and laced the ends of the scarf through the pin. You couldn’t tell the pin was there, the scarf lay loosely around my neck (no panic attacks), no knots, easily removed if needed, it didn’t get in the way of my work and the children I work with found it interesting. Due to genetics and hormones I sweat profusely and was concerned it would feel constricting and hot. NO. IT DID NOT. In fact, I kind of liked it and look forward to the trained skills and talents of Trisha selecting more for me to wear. I think I would love to have a large variety of colors for sure and maybe even a few with print on them. She can also construct an attractive pin to attach to my tops if I want. I think I just might want that too.
What? What’s that? Picture? What picture?……..OH, THAT PICTURE. Yes, since you asked I will post the photo I had taken for me. But keep in mind I didn’t quite have the scarf set where I wanted it yet. But it will show you that I did try it and how it looked as well. Here you go:
Here’s to having an eye on fashion…
The idea of women wearing scarves tied around their neck isn’t surprising or unique. However, women wearing a tie is less common. Many years ago I colored my hair flaming red and wore men’s ties to work. It was liberating, refreshing and fun. Remembering that made me think back and reflect of how uncommon it still is. This surprised me. With all the new advances in the mind of society I really thought ties on women would be more common. But it’s not. There are businesses that require the staff, male and female, to wear a tie. But women don’t wear them “just because”. It was this line of thinking that brought me to today’s post.
Being, claustrophobic I guess, I prefer the tie over the scarf. I’ve worn ties and scarves. The scarf is usually so thick and bulky
I feel suffocated just looking at someone else in them. I have a very hard time wearing it myself. With this issue in mind,
SensaFashion’s Trisha Trixie has contrived a very narrow, ultra-lightweight scarf for me to try out. I will be wearing it today.
She also makes Buckle Scarves TM and HoopScarves you can try.
I’ll try to get a picture of me wearing it to share with you. What about you? Will you try it? Either one? If you do let us know.
Share with us. Which one did you choose? Why did you go with your choice? Have you worn it before? Did it bother you?
Did others notice or say anything. To see my “try it” photo be sure to look on our Facebook page at the link below:

What could be more spectacular than the sultry moves of the Salsa?
Maybe it’s the amazing costumes. Take a look. You decide.
I think it’s a combination of the costumes, music and movements. Whatever it is, I am enthralled with the Salsa dancers. I find them intriguing, amazing to watch. Their style is easy on the eyes. Especially this FashionEye’s.
Last week I went to Vintage in the City here in Des Moines Iowa. It was a blast from the past. I wanted to stop in and see a fun little store I have been dying to check out. I wrote a little bit about it for Des Moines is not Boring but I love to REALLY showcase the stores that I go to so you can really check them out!
Here are MORE amazing pictures I took the day I went…
Welcome! Welcome! Come on in and take a look. We have all the latest news for the Fashionista Fun Fashion Blog by SensaFashion. We begin with:
Bangs, bangs, bangs. It’s always about bangs. More bang for your buck. Bang, out they went. Bang/bangs have an unspoken implication of impact, powerful assertion, abruptness. Strength, direction. And bangs for hair is no exception!
Wiki Answers says the following:
“Bangs” are so-called because they are created by cutting the hair “bang- off,” abruptly and straight across the forehead. And finally, at the risk of offending our bang-coiffed readers, I must tell you that “bangs” as a young lady’s hairstyle almost certainly originated with the practice of cutting horses’ tails straight across, a style known to this day as a “bang-tail.”
